TIDBITS OF LINGERIE NEWS AND DEVELOPMENTS

I thought it would be interesting and fun to check out some of the lingerie industry news, as most consumers are not privy to such information, and, there is always something exciting brewing behind the scenes…

The Wine Rack, which is also known as the Booze Bra, this is because you can fill this sports bra up with a drink of choiceÂ…including wine and beer. The Wine Rack is a comfortable sports-style bra, which features a boob-enhancing polyurethane bladder for that extra padding; his can be slipped on under your regular clothes and filled with any beverage you fancy. With a rack like this girlsÂ’ nights out will never be the same again. Ha! That will certainly liven up the night or a party, think? Wooooo, check out my booze bra….

Boxers made from bamboo, trunks infused with vitamin C, Y-fronts that boost your bulge and briefs that lift your bottom - these are just some of the new undergarments fueling a boom in the Australian men’s underwear market, now worth $600 million a year. But ask Sean Ashby, founder of one of Australia’s most successful men’s underwear labels, aussieBum, if he’s surprised men are spending more money than ever before on their underwear and he’ll probably laugh in your face. “Surprised? Hell, no,” Ashby says. “They’re looking after their most valuable asset and you can’t put a price on that.” I love to watch a man do a strip tease, and, these will certainly add to the experience. Men are both funny and good at teasing, and, like the man says, they are simply looking to have the same options as the ladies…

What do you suppose the number one selling lingerie item is? Give up? It is bras. That really dumbfounded me, but, I can see it being so. Lots of ladies like bras so much they have one for every outfit, and, then those special ones for nights. I like bras, own quite a few, but, have never really thought of them as lingerie, they are more like an essential, and, while they are sexy, beautifully detailed, and have other attributes, to me, they are more like a prison of the day, and, I can’t wait to take mine off. To me, lingerie is much more exciting than a bra and panties, but hey, to each their own, right??? Bras make up over 59% of all lingerie sales, which fluctuates of course, but, still, that is a lot of bras being purchased…

Then we have this interesting tidbit:

Women may soon be able to self diagnose breast cancer with the help of a smart bra which is being developed by researchers at the Centre for Materials Research and Innovation (CMRI) at the University of Bolton, UK.

Lingerie is a massive industry, and, for good reason; with lingerie, we are able to go beyond our daily roles. With lingerie, we are freed from being the usual person we are known to be, when, in fact, in everyone lives an actor or actress just hoping to get some light. Lingerie enhances our lives, our romance, and, it releases fantasies, dreams, and visions of the most memorable kind…
